Checks Downtown Present Their Third Collection
Auckland retailer, Checks Downtown have just released their third collection in time before winter leaves us. This collection takes us back to clothing having meaning and expressing the interests of the wearer. Corduroy and tartan are archival textiles with practical origins with both featuring prominently throughout. The use of tartan as an identifier of clans in Scottish heritage and corduroy being a traditional country and hunting textile serves as an anchor to carry this message. Sportswear garments are mixed in provide a contrast to the traditional fabrics and bring the streetwear elements. Bomber or coach jackets, five pocket jeans and slacks are punctuated with a sort of punk lens with accents such as patches, prints and cropped fits. The first delivery is available at Checks Downtown in-store and online.
