In late March 2019, Showroom 22 will launch the first in a two-week-long series of fashion-related events, hosted at their Auckland CBD showroom and on-site studio, Symmetry Studio. The series of events, named Fashion In Focus, will target New Zealand’s creative industries and the nation’s emerging talent pool who wish to explore and celebrate the fashion industry and its creative forces.

Speakers include Maggie Hewitt of Maggie Marilyn, Gosia Piatek of Kowtow, Hamish Tame of Le Specs, Wynn Crawshaw of Wynn Hamlyn and many more notable names within the industry.

Much like global events of the same nature, Fashion In Focus 2019 will turn fashion’s usual elitism inside-out and throw open doors normally closed to non-industry guests.  As the fashion world - and in fact the whole consumer world - becomes more instant and focused on B2C, there is a desire to embrace this change and move towards an open-source platform of idea and knowledge sharing.

Combining local and international speakers across six nights, Fashion In Focus 2019 will have an event tailored for almost every fashion fan, from the novice through to the most seasoned veterans.

The talk of ‘Accessible Fashion’ will be free, with donations taken on the evening to go towards The Lucy Foundation while tickets will be sold to five events at $40 each. Student rates are $30 per ticket and group bookings (10 or more tickets) are $29 each. Tickets can be purchased on iticket.co.nz.
