Rufus Knight has received a gold pin at the Best Design Awards 2018 for his work on the new Kowtow Wellington Flagship store, which also came out on top in the Retail Environments category.

Opening earlier in the year, the Flagship store was a real passion project for Kowtow founder Gosia Piatek, who has consciously of married her ethical, sustainable and aesthetic goals. Partnering with renown interior designer Rufus Knight, it should be no surprise that the stunning space has been imagined with the brands ethical and sustainable values at its core - articulating minimalism, simplicity and generosity.

“The store opening is an opportunity to bring the Kowtow ethos into a physical space. The only option for us was to engage interior designer and architect, Rufus Knight, as he is leading the charge with innovative interiors. Rufus was excited to work with us as sustainability and traceability is core to what we do and he wanted to execute that in the design. Every detail was considered - from the recycled nylon rugs to the New Zealand grown and milled timber - “ Gosia Piatek - Founder & Creative Director.
