SSENSE Notches A New Retail Space Under It’s Belt

Canadian luxury platform SSENSE have recently opened their new flagship store titled, SSENSE MONTRÉAL. Located at 418 rue Saint Sulpice, the concept space is for appointments, events, projects, and conversations. An invitation to look, feel, and interact. David Chipperfield Architects oversaw the project as it renders the physical nature of the company's modern ethos while paying homage to Montréal.

Based in the historical district of Old Montréal is the large 19th century five-floor building which houses the store. Coming in over 13,000 square-feet the Brutalist nature of the structure allows for the new and old to blend together. Utilising a colour scheme of greys, silvers, blacks and whites accompanied by stone, metal and other harsh materials allow for simple minimalism within the space. With a café and book store on the top floor, there are two floors dedicated with large fitting rooms for appointment only customers who want one-on-one styling which can be arranged online or through the dedicated SSENSE stylist app. This new shopping experience allows clients access to over 20,000 products that are available on their online store within a 24-hour window.
